#WeddingWednesday Amanda + Andrew 9-19-2015

Amanda and Andrew's wedding is too ADORABLE for words! You can see the love between them! <3 *Sigh* Here is what she had to say about her big day: "The morning of my wedding, it was raining. I was so nervous that it was going to continue because our ceremony was outside on the back lawn of the Grosse Pointe War Memorial right on the water. When the coordinator came in she asked if we still planned on getting married outside and I still said yes. We got so lucky because it turned out to be a beautiful day, and through the window I could see butterflies flying around. I was escorted down the aisle by my mom, I was trying so hard the whole time not to cry only because I was so happy to walk down the aisle to my best friend and finally put the ring that I had bought him 3 years earlier on his finger. My husband told me that my dress was not what he was expecting, he thought that I was going to have a big poofy dress, but he told me that he loved my dress ...

One Dress 7 Different Ways!

Say hello to Perla class! Isn’t she a beauty? Perla is a ruched charmeuse gown with a side sweep train. This is the perfect dress to show off dem curves gurl! I played with some our accessories to show you just how custom you can make this dress! AND, OF COURSE I photographed it too, to help you visualize it! Look #1. We’ll start you off with a bang. Here we added some beaded straps, and a super blingy belt. See how different we made the dress look already? Look #2 I added a pearl and bling belt, beaded edge veil, and a pearl necklace. I really love the look of a beaded veil with a simple dress. It helps to frame your face without being too gaudy. Creating a very classic and elegant look. This look is great for girls who want a little bling but don’t want a fully beaded gown. Look #3 I added a statement necklace, straps and fully beaded belt. This look is for the bride who really wants to make a statement. As I'm sure you all know, I am all about...

10 Tips for Wedding Gown Shopping

You are already gorgeous inside and out, and no dress is going to change that! You are gorgeous with or without that dress, and it’s so important to remember that you are beautiful just as you are! Sorry to go all James Blunt on you, but you needed to hear that. Okay let’s get started! Start Early! We always suggest girls start shopping a year before the wedding and while that might seem bat shit crazy, it really does help for a smoother process. Trust us! Gowns typically take 6-9 months to come in, crazy right? Since we are at the manufacturer's discretion, there are several reasons for delays such as a UPS plane crashing (that actually happened to us), box sent to Amazon (that also actually happened btw), wrong dress sent, manufacturer made the wrong size etc. We have zero control over all the what-if’s and so starting early is always best! We thankfully have never missed a wedding and never had a problem that couldn’t be properly fixed. Your stylist is ...

#WeddingWednesday Brandie + Josh 5-22-15

Brandie and Josh were married on May 22, 2015 and their wedding had such cute details! They had a POPCORN BAR! Who doesn't love popcorn?! Check out what she had to say about her wedding: “Josh and I were married on May 22nd, 2015. We had both the ceremony and our rehearsal at Fernhill Golf Club in Clinton Township. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day! We each spent the day getting ready with our bridal parties. We opted to see one another before our ceremony, and did a first look. Best idea ever! Not only did it calm our nerves, but it was amazing to spend that one on one time with one another to take in the special day by ourselves.  Afterwards, we did group shots with our entire bridal party before the ceremony as well. This also worked out well because our photographer, Amanda Williams, did an incredible job of putting everyone at ease and had us all laughing right up until the ceremony began.  Instead of the traditional unity candle, we ...

#WeddingWednesday Kristen + Chris 6-20-15

Kristen and Chris were married on June 20th 2015 and here is what she had to said about their big day! “Chris and I were married on June 20, 2015. It was definitely a day to remember! We are major Michigan Wolverine fans, so our colors were maize/yellow and blue. We were married at the First United Methodist Church in Saline, Michigan. Hands down, the best part of the day was saying our vows to each other, which (of course) included a portion about being devoted Michigan fans until the end! This picture captures our emotions SO well after being pronounced husband and wife, it is so surreal… Our awesome photographer, Jess (M & J Photography), was fantastic and took some amazingly gorgeous pictures. We took pictures all around downtown Ann Arbor, which was so fun… Our reception was at the Meeting Grand Ballroom in Plymouth and it was absolutely breathtaking… Chris and I are HUGE ice cream fans, so we decided instead of cake, we would have an ice c...

REAL TALK. How to be A Good Bridesmaid

We all know that being a bridesmaid is a blessing AND a curse. Buying a dress that 1. you don’t like and 2. UGH that price tag though! We all know that sometimes being asked to be in a wedding is extremely frustrating. However, when your best friend asks you to be in her wedding it’s hard to not feel honored! She loves you and wants you by her side for the most important day of her life. Please be seated class! Remember that she might be stressed out, and don’t take it personal. She may be stressed because everyone is in her ear telling her what she should do. Ask her if she needs help and most likely she will need it, but might not want to ask. You may not care about all the details, but she does! A good friend will shut up about her wanting paper flowers instead of real ones and help her make “said” paper flowers. She will change her mind at least a dozen times. I am SOOO guilty of this. In this day and age with pinterest, instagram, wedding blogs, and facebook i...
