#WeddingWednesday Brandie + Josh 5-22-15

Brandie and Josh were married on May 22, 2015 and their wedding had such cute details! They had a POPCORN BAR! Who doesn't love popcorn?! Check out what she had to say about her wedding:

“Josh and I were married on May 22nd, 2015. We had both the ceremony and our rehearsal at Fernhill Golf Club in Clinton Township.

We could not have asked for a more beautiful day! We each spent the day getting ready with our bridal parties. We opted to see one another before our ceremony, and did a first look. Best idea ever! Not only did it calm our nerves, but it was amazing to spend that one on one time with one another to take in the special day by ourselves.

Afterwards, we did group shots with our entire bridal party before the ceremony as well. This also worked out well because our photographer, Amanda Williams, did an incredible job of putting everyone at ease and had us all laughing right up until the ceremony began.

Instead of the traditional unity candle, we opted to perform a wine box ceremony as part of our vows. The morning of the wedding, we each wrote a letter to one another that centered on why we were making the commitment to one another, and the feelings we felt that day. The letters were sealed, and during the ceremony, we placed them in a box, along with a bottle of wine. The idea is that if we ever face a difficult trying time in our marriage, we will open the box, pour each other a glass of wine, and take some time reading the other's letter to reground us in why we married. Or, the hope is that we don't need the box, and open it on our 5 year anniversary to celebrate! I will never forget the smile on my husband's face, and how happy I felt during our vows!

Josh loved the dress, and said I never looked more beautiful. He said the dress suited me perfectly, except he wasn't expecting the dress to be light gold, he thought I would choose a white dress. I felt like a princess in my dress! It was the right amount of sassy and classy. It accentuated all of my curves, but still made me feel incredibly confident! Everyone was a huge fan of the light gold color, and loved how playful the vertical waves on it were.

Our reception was so much fun! It was amazing seeing all of my planning come together, and see the big picture! Everything had a very modern, yet rustic feel. Josh wanted to be surprised for the most part and was floored when he seen everything come together! Instead of a traditional cake, Josh and I cut into a 6 inch cake, and our guests were able to choose from 4 different flavors of cupcakes.

Also, I am mildly obsessed with popcorn, so we also had a popcorn bar for everyone to munch on throughout the evening as well. We also included a photo booth, and Mike Staff Productions kept the dance floor packed all night. It was the greatest feeling celebrating with all of our loved ones!

There were a few special things that happened that day as well. My brother was a father figure to me and helped raise me until I was about 16 when I met my dad. Both men are so important with me, that I had the idea to do a first look with them as well. Neither of them were told anything about my dress and having those moments with them meant so much to me.

The other great memory I have happened by accident. Our DJ Accidentally forgot to introduce my nephew Chase during the wedding party introductions. At 7 years old, Chase spends a lot of time with my husband and I, he is super important to us. He was so upset that he wasn’t introduced. My MOH and mother suggested to the DJ that Chase escort me to the dance floor for our first dance. So when the time came, Chase was introduced and proudly grabby my hand and lead me to Josh, it was such a great personal moment, and chase felt so involved and special."

12 Things Brides Forget Before Their Wedding Day

BRING EXTRA SHOES! Those gorgeous heels you bought? Yeah, by the time the reception rolls around your feet will be killing you! Bring an extra pair of flats so you can keep dancing and socializing the night away. You’ll thank me later. Decide what to do with the gifts. This is often forgotten during the wedding planning process, but still pretty important thing to remember! Make sure you assign someone to pack up the gifts and tell them where to take them. Especially if you are leaving on your honeymoon that night! You don’t want to decide what to do with them after you have had a few glasses of champagne. ;) Assign someone responsible to take care of the marriage license! Your officiant will take two copies and one is your souvenir. (Yes, you will sign three of them.) Make sure you don’t ask your cousin who has had 4 possibly 6 drinks that night already. 6 Tips for Stress-Free Bridesmaid Shopping

Budget: This is one of the most challenging parts for your maids, so make sure you are upfront about your expectations from the very start. Communicate with your girls, ask what they can afford and plan accordingly. If your girls are on a strict budget, START EARLY! Having your girls know the price of the dress a few months before they need to order, will make this purchase MUCH easier on them. Thas way, your girls can budget for the dress and not add on last minute stress! Happy bridesmaids = a happy bride :) Time: As I said above, time is very important, because bridesmaid dresses can take up to 6 months to arrive. Also, don’t forget your girls need to get their alterations as well. No, this is not a perfectly fitted garment, and yes, they will almost certainly need alterati
