Our wedding theme was paper airplanes because of a short film my husband and I fell in love with. We also were never huge fans of flowers being the focal point, so using paper was fun and unique to us. It also made wedding planning easier not having to handle real flowers so we could get things done months in advance.  It was in the fall so we did use mini pumpkins for escort cards, and we drilled wholes in big pumpkins and put changing LED lights in them. We had paper airplanes on our cake, my necklace, and even on our bouquets and boutonnieres! We always suggest girls start shopping a year before the wedding and while that might seem bat shit crazy, it really does help for a smoother process. Trust us! Gowns typically take 6-9 months to come in, crazy right? Since we are at the manufacturer's discretion, there are several reasons for delays such as a UPS plane crashing (that actually happened to us), box sent to Amazon (that also actually happened btw), wrong dress sent, manufacturer made the wrong size etc. We have zero control over all the what-if’s and so starting early is always best!
