#WeddingWednesday Cori + Steven 10-24-15

Our wedding theme was paper airplanes because of a short film my husband and I fell in love with. We also were never huge fans of flowers being the focal point, so using paper was fun and unique to us. It also made wedding planning easier not having to handle real flowers so we could get things done months in advance.

It was in the fall so we did use mini pumpkins for escort cards, and we drilled wholes in big pumpkins and put changing LED lights in them. We had paper airplanes on our cake, my necklace, and even on our bouquets and boutonnieres! Also instead of a book for people to sign, we made paper airplanes to later put in a big shadow box.

One of the easiest parts of our 15 month wedding planning adventure was finding my dress! I had gone to a previous shop but it was more so to have a better idea as to what I actually liked and flattered me the most. So once I got to Bombshell finding my dress was amazingly simple and quick! I think my dress ending up being the third one I tried on.

When I arrived to the venue the weather was still very on and off for rain like it had been all day. For the whole duration of the ceremony there was no rain, and the moment everyone got inside it was down pouring. It was absolutely fantastic. We had the luck of rain without being rained on!

We choose our venue to be a local Winery and Brewery. We choose this venue because it was nothing we had ever seen before and it was easier overall to have the food and drinks in house and specialty made.

Our ceremony spot was on the patio which had an outdoor fireplace.

Inside were tall walls, a pond, very open space and windows, rustic, and of course the bar hosted by the brewery itself was a perk. There was also a wine garden that we took some of our photos near. Choosing our venue is also great because we're always able to go back.

I slipped a note into my husbands tux a few days before the wedding. It said, "This is it, I'll see you soon. <3" I told my photographer while the ceremony was waiting to start to have him look in his inner pocket and to snap a picture. I later found out from friends in the audience that when she went up to him in front of everybody and were whispering, everyone was concerned that something was wrong. But it turned into a great surprise for everyone with one of my favorite photos of him.

I cannot emphasize enough to not be afraid to be who you are! Show those tattoos! If you want to have your princess ballgown with black nails go for it, it's your wedding!

XOXO,
   Cori

Cori we wish nothing but happiness for you and your new hubby! <3 Ahh have I ever said how much I love my job? I get to see beautiful weddings like this ALL THE TIME! How luck am I?! :p Congratulations you two, I wish you both the best this world has to offer! <3

12 Things Brides Forget Before Their Wedding Day

BRING EXTRA SHOES! Those gorgeous heels you bought? Yeah, by the time the reception rolls around your feet will be killing you! Bring an extra pair of flats so you can keep dancing and socializing the night away. You’ll thank me later. Decide what to do with the gifts. This is often forgotten during the wedding planning process, but still pretty important thing to remember! Make sure you assign someone to pack up the gifts and tell them where to take them. Especially if you are leaving on your honeymoon that night! You don’t want to decide what to do with them after you have had a few glasses of champagne. ;) Assign someone responsible to take care of the marriage license! Your officiant will take two copies and one is your souvenir. (Yes, you will sign three of them.) Make sure you don’t ask your cousin who has had 4 possibly 6 drinks that night already. A pretty hanger for your wedding dress. Since your dress will be photographed you want to make s...

#WeddingWednesday Taara + Malcolm 9-5-15

Wait until you see how beautiful Taara is! Their wedding was BEAUTIFUL! See what she had to say about her big day: "Our ceremony took place at Rock of  Ages Christian Ministries.   Our ceremony was short and sweet and only lasted about 20 minutes. My dad walked me down the aisle as my only brother sang to me.  I had my 2 favorite guys share this special moment with me and that meant everything to me. My husband and I exchanged vows and demonstrated us becoming one by taking part in a wine communion ceremony.  Once that was all said and done, we were introduced for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Hatcher. My fiancĂ© thought that I was the most beautiful bride in the world. He absolutely loved my dress. I felt like a princess in my wedding dress. I never in a million years though that I could feel that way ! Being plus size can put a lot of doubt in your mind when it comes to finding that perfect dress for on...
