#WeddingWednesday Sandie + Robert 7-18-15

Sandie + Robert were married on July 18th, 2015 and what a beautiful day they had! Here is what she had to say about her big day:

“We wanted to get married in Detroit.  We looked at many different options that did not fit our vision.  We toured the DNR OAC center before the exhibits set up, but the plans for the DNR OAC were amazing – and it fit our vision. Our wedding was their first wedding; and two days before they opened to the public.  Our guests were able to enjoy the exhibits before and after our ceremony.

I felt great in my wedding gown.  I saw this dress at a bridal show with my fiancé, and was glad to see it at Bombshell Bridal.  Although I tried on many, many dresses – this was my favorite.  The staff was great and the alterations were perfect.

Our reception was so fun!  We celebrated with our friends and family; the DJ wonderfully embraced our music taste; the food was flavorful; the cake was delicious; and the hall staff was pleasant and extremely helpful.

My husband’s family has a tradition of writing and singing a song during the reception.  They sang our song to the tune of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.”  At the end of the song, the lyric sheets were given to us - a great keepsake.”

Bridal Shows

Bridal shows are the best way for you, the busy bride to plan your wedding with ease! Shows are an exciting, fun, festive way to meet different necessary vendors. These vendors are there for you, they are there to talk with you, give you information and help you find what services fit your wedding.  Shows can also be a bit overwhelming, as a salon we see this happen a lot! Make sure to plan ahead and are ready for day, here are some tips from us.  Bring important people, groom included. Don't invite your entire bridal party, save that for other activities, this is a chance for you to really figure out what you need and want to have at your wedding.  Make a list of the products and service you need most, visit them first.  Ask for a map of the show, you can see where specific vendors are placed and it will help you navigate.  Print out your name, wedding date, and contact info on labels, this saves a lot of time for entries at vendor tables.  ...

#WeddingWednesday Taara + Malcolm 9-5-15

Wait until you see how beautiful Taara is! Their wedding was BEAUTIFUL! See what she had to say about her big day: "Our ceremony took place at Rock of  Ages Christian Ministries.   Our ceremony was short and sweet and only lasted about 20 minutes. My dad walked me down the aisle as my only brother sang to me.  I had my 2 favorite guys share this special moment with me and that meant everything to me. My husband and I exchanged vows and demonstrated us becoming one by taking part in a wine communion ceremony.  Once that was all said and done, we were introduced for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Hatcher. My fiancé thought that I was the most beautiful bride in the world. He absolutely loved my dress. I felt like a princess in my wedding dress. I never in a million years though that I could feel that way ! Being plus size can put a lot of doubt in your mind when it comes to finding that perfect dress for on...

12 Things Brides Forget Before Their Wedding Day

BRING EXTRA SHOES! Those gorgeous heels you bought? Yeah, by the time the reception rolls around your feet will be killing you! Bring an extra pair of flats so you can keep dancing and socializing the night away. You’ll thank me later. Decide what to do with the gifts. This is often forgotten during the wedding planning process, but still pretty important thing to remember! Make sure you assign someone to pack up the gifts and tell them where to take them. Especially if you are leaving on your honeymoon that night! You don’t want to decide what to do with them after you have had a few glasses of champagne. ;) Assign someone responsible to take care of the marriage license! Your officiant will take two copies and one is your souvenir. (Yes, you will sign three of them.) Make sure you don’t ask your cousin who has had 4 possibly 6 drinks that night already. A pretty hanger for your wedding dress. Since your dress will be photographed you want to make s...
