Marybeth's #WeddingWednesday

Today’s Wedding Wednesday features our bride Marybeth and her husband, Jon. Marybeth was one of our first brides!
Marybeth and Jon met through and on online dating site “we went through all of the communication steps and talked on the phone quite a bit before we had our first date in May. We knew we had something special right away.  It took us awhile to find each other, I was 26 and my husband was 25.  We both said that it was worth the wait!”
The couple was engaged in December of 2010 and planned their wedding for 2011. “.  I planned a Winter Wonderland theme and created a lot DIY elements from our wedding.  I made all of my bridesmaid’s bouquets, the table centerpieces, and a brooch bouquet for myself.  We were married on Friday, December 30, which is also my parent’s anniversary.” December is also the Grooms birthday!
Marybeth explained that she looked at the big box bridal salon “, but I couldn't find anything that I liked.  My mom saw an article in the Macomb Daily about a new Bridal Salon opening for plus sized women, Bombshell Bridal.  We went right away and I was actually able to try on lots of dresses and I found the ONE.”
Other details from the couple’s special day includes an 18 person bridal party, including the Groom’s niece and nephew being the ring bearer and flower girl.
Music played an important role in Marybeth and Jon’s wedding, “Our church musicians played Ever the Same by Rob Thomas during our unity candle.  We walked into the reception to Nothing's Gonna Stop Us, we always sang Karaoke to that song and it was actually how my husband proposed.  I thought we were singing Karaoke, but when I looked at the screen it said Marybeth will you marry me?”

Marybeth and Jon are now a family with their 15 month old little boy, congratulations!

Bridal Shows

Bridal shows are the best way for you, the busy bride to plan your wedding with ease! Shows are an exciting, fun, festive way to meet different necessary vendors. These vendors are there for you, they are there to talk with you, give you information and help you find what services fit your wedding.  Shows can also be a bit overwhelming, as a salon we see this happen a lot! Make sure to plan ahead and are ready for day, here are some tips from us.  Bring important people, groom included. Don't invite your entire bridal party, save that for other activities, this is a chance for you to really figure out what you need and want to have at your wedding.  Make a list of the products and service you need most, visit them first.  Ask for a map of the show, you can see where specific vendors are placed and it will help you navigate.  Print out your name, wedding date, and contact info on labels, this saves a lot of time for entries at vendor tables.  ...

#WeddingWednesday Taara + Malcolm 9-5-15

Wait until you see how beautiful Taara is! Their wedding was BEAUTIFUL! See what she had to say about her big day: "Our ceremony took place at Rock of  Ages Christian Ministries.   Our ceremony was short and sweet and only lasted about 20 minutes. My dad walked me down the aisle as my only brother sang to me.  I had my 2 favorite guys share this special moment with me and that meant everything to me. My husband and I exchanged vows and demonstrated us becoming one by taking part in a wine communion ceremony.  Once that was all said and done, we were introduced for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Hatcher. My fiancé thought that I was the most beautiful bride in the world. He absolutely loved my dress. I felt like a princess in my wedding dress. I never in a million years though that I could feel that way ! Being plus size can put a lot of doubt in your mind when it comes to finding that perfect dress for on...

Amanda's advice, Attitude is EVERYTHING!!

I often get asked, what my best advice is for brides shopping for their gowns, and my answer is always the same: Keep an open mind. This is so important, and key to having a successful visit. Buying a wedding gown can be very exciting. It can also be terrifying. It can make you feel your most beautiful, and it can also bring up all sorts of body image issues. While every bride and every experience is different, the one thing I can tell you with complete confidence, is that the brides who keep an open mind have the best experiences. We recently had a bridal appointment start like this: Consultant: “Are you ready to get started?!? We’re going to have some fun today!!” Bride: “I doubt it.” Throughout the appointment, this bride refused to try on gowns that her consultant suggested, and found fault with everything, even the gowns she liked best. It probably won’t surprise you to know that this appointment didn’t end well. For whatever reason, this particular bride was not open to the possi...
