#WeddingWednesday on a Tuesday

With Wednesday being Christmas Eve we decided to treat you with an early #WeddingWednesday post!

Congratulations to our bride Katherine and her husband who were wed on October 18th, 2014 in Ann Arbor at The Valley. Kathrine wrote us a beautifully detailed email with her wedding story and we are so excited to share her memories of their special day.
"From the beginning of my wedding planning I hadn't given my thought to a dress or what I wanted. My mother heard really amazing things about bombshell bridal so I figured I would give them a shot. Really what did I have to lose? I went in not having any idea what I wanted. Everyone who worked at the shop did an amazing job at making me feel comfortable, important and beautiful. They had a huge selection with a very wide range of prices. I was a bride on a budget and they picked a few in my price range. I was so torn between two different dresses and I picked a dress that was a bit cheaper but had more of a classic look to it. I was sold."
October 18th 2014 was a little over cast and cold which was a bit of a bummer because we had talked about being married outside but the weather had another idea. The Valley is a beautiful venue inside and out so we decided that inside was just as good. After I was primped to walk down the isle I was ready for my first look with my soon to be husband. As I walked over to him I couldn't believe this was all really happening. My eyes watered with all the emotions and exhaustion that has led up to this point. He was the most handsome I had ever seen him because lets face it ladies, there is NOTHING more sexy then a man in a well fitting suit. We hugged for a moment and then started laughing. The emotions had passed and we were just in love and ready for the remainder of the day.
I walked as gracefully as I could down the isle. I made it nearly all the way down before tripping and almost falling on my pretty primped butt. My beloved then came down and rescued me. A lot of people must have wondered why I didn't have my dad walk me down. Truth is, is that I didn't need anyone to give me away, after 10 years of dating I was his and he was mine. The ceremony was short and sweet, we said our I do's and walked back down the isle to start our happily ever after and celebrate with everyone we loved and cherished."
What a sweet, emotional and wonderful day it seemed, congratulations to the newly weds!

12 Things Brides Forget Before Their Wedding Day

BRING EXTRA SHOES! Those gorgeous heels you bought? Yeah, by the time the reception rolls around your feet will be killing you! Bring an extra pair of flats so you can keep dancing and socializing the night away. You’ll thank me later. Decide what to do with the gifts. This is often forgotten during the wedding planning process, but still pretty important thing to remember! Make sure you assign someone to pack up the gifts and tell them where to take them. Especially if you are leaving on your honeymoon that night! You don’t want to decide what to do with them after you have had a few glasses of champagne. ;) Assign someone responsible to take care of the marriage license! Your officiant will take two copies and one is your souvenir. (Yes, you will sign three of them.) Make sure you don’t ask your cousin who has had 4 possibly 6 drinks that night already. A pretty hanger for your wedding dress. Since your dress will be photographed you want to make s...

Emily's #WeddingWednesday

Emily came to Bombshell on a recommendation from a friend "I was having a horrible time finding a dress in my size. I called the shop and asked about my size, when she said "We have that size", I almost cried" she said. The bride and new mom came to the shop she had little less than a month until her wedding. Emily was so worried about finding a gown for her special day. " We picked out 4 dresses an started trying them on, I wasn't feeling like any of them was "The one". My consultant  wasn't rushful or rude about me not liking them. She then went to the back and brought out a dress in blue that could be ordered in white, I LOVED IT!!!!" The gown Emily chose was ready for her wedding and she looked stunning! " The day of my wedding I felt like a million dollars, everyone loved my dress. When I got to my husband at the alter he was in awe, mouth open and all. After the wedding he told me that I took his breath away, that he fell...

Amanda's advice, Attitude is EVERYTHING!!

I often get asked, what my best advice is for brides shopping for their gowns, and my answer is always the same: Keep an open mind. This is so important, and key to having a successful visit. Buying a wedding gown can be very exciting. It can also be terrifying. It can make you feel your most beautiful, and it can also bring up all sorts of body image issues. While every bride and every experience is different, the one thing I can tell you with complete confidence, is that the brides who keep an open mind have the best experiences. We recently had a bridal appointment start like this: Consultant: “Are you ready to get started?!? We’re going to have some fun today!!” Bride: “I doubt it.” Throughout the appointment, this bride refused to try on gowns that her consultant suggested, and found fault with everything, even the gowns she liked best. It probably won’t surprise you to know that this appointment didn’t end well. For whatever reason, this particular bride was not open to the possi...
