#WeddingWednesday on a Tuesday

With Wednesday being Christmas Eve we decided to treat you with an early #WeddingWednesday post!

Congratulations to our bride Katherine and her husband who were wed on October 18th, 2014 in Ann Arbor at The Valley. Kathrine wrote us a beautifully detailed email with her wedding story and we are so excited to share her memories of their special day.
"From the beginning of my wedding planning I hadn't given my thought to a dress or what I wanted. My mother heard really amazing things about bombshell bridal so I figured I would give them a shot. Really what did I have to lose? I went in not having any idea what I wanted. Everyone who worked at the shop did an amazing job at making me feel comfortable, important and beautiful. They had a huge selection with a very wide range of prices. I was a bride on a budget and they picked a few in my price range. I was so torn between two different dresses and I picked a dress that was a bit cheaper but had more of a classic look to it. I was sold."
October 18th 2014 was a little over cast and cold which was a bit of a bummer because we had talked about being married outside but the weather had another idea. The Valley is a beautiful venue inside and out so we decided that inside was just as good. After I was primped to walk down the isle I was ready for my first look with my soon to be husband. As I walked over to him I couldn't believe this was all really happening. My eyes watered with all the emotions and exhaustion that has led up to this point. He was the most handsome I had ever seen him because lets face it ladies, there is NOTHING more sexy then a man in a well fitting suit. We hugged for a moment and then started laughing. The emotions had passed and we were just in love and ready for the remainder of the day.
I walked as gracefully as I could down the isle. I made it nearly all the way down before tripping and almost falling on my pretty primped butt. My beloved then came down and rescued me. A lot of people must have wondered why I didn't have my dad walk me down. Truth is, is that I didn't need anyone to give me away, after 10 years of dating I was his and he was mine. The ceremony was short and sweet, we said our I do's and walked back down the isle to start our happily ever after and celebrate with everyone we loved and cherished."
What a sweet, emotional and wonderful day it seemed, congratulations to the newly weds!

12 Things Brides Forget Before Their Wedding Day

BRING EXTRA SHOES! Those gorgeous heels you bought? Yeah, by the time the reception rolls around your feet will be killing you! Bring an extra pair of flats so you can keep dancing and socializing the night away. You’ll thank me later. Decide what to do with the gifts. This is often forgotten during the wedding planning process, but still pretty important thing to remember! Make sure you assign someone to pack up the gifts and tell them where to take them. Especially if you are leaving on your honeymoon that night! You don’t want to decide what to do with them after you have had a few glasses of champagne. ;) Assign someone responsible to take care of the marriage license! Your officiant will take two copies and one is your souvenir. (Yes, you will sign three of them.) Make sure you don’t ask your cousin who has had 4 possibly 6 drinks that night already. A pretty hanger for your wedding dress. Since your dress will be photographed you want to make s...

6 Tips for Stress-Free Bridesmaid Shopping

I have heard so many brides tell me that bridesmaid dress shopping was the most stressful part of her planning, so let me help make your shopping a bit easier with these helpful tips! Gurl I gotchu. Budget: This is one of the most challenging parts for your maids, so make sure you are upfront about your expectations from the very start. Communicate with your girls, ask what they can afford and plan accordingly. If your girls are on a strict budget, START EARLY! Having your girls know the price of the dress a few months before they need to order, will make this purchase MUCH easier on them. Thas way, your girls can budget for the dress and not add on last minute stress! Happy bridesmaids = a happy bride :) Time: As I said above, time is very important, because bridesmaid dresses can take up to 6 months to arrive. Also, don’t forget your girls need to get their alterations as well. No, this is not a perfectly fitted garment, and yes, they will almost certainly need alterati...
