To a Beautiful Bride as you become a wife

It's hard to find the perfect words for such a special occasion. After months of planning, days of pinterest, and a lot of "DIY" sweat and tears- your day has finally arrived. There are no more vendors to call or book. You have finally finished that pesky seating chart and the centerpieces are complete. Your dress is here, and it is the definition of perfection on you. Today, darling, you are no longer a "bride to be"; you are THE bride and you are going to be stunning. As you prepare to walk down the aisle to your future, these are my wishes for you.  1) I wish you the most incredible day. I hope you are surrounded by friends and family who love you both and are excited to celebrate your new excellent adventure with you. I hope you smile uncontrollably, laugh until you cry, and feel the love surrounding you every second of today. I wish you butterflies and the purest form of bliss that comes from marrying your best friend and walking towards eternity with

#WeddingWednesday Taara + Malcolm 9-5-15

Wait until you see how beautiful Taara is! Their wedding was BEAUTIFUL! See what she had to say about her big day: "Our ceremony took place at Rock of  Ages Christian Ministries.   Our ceremony was short and sweet and only lasted about 20 minutes. My dad walked me down the aisle as my only brother sang to me.  I had my 2 favorite guys share this special moment with me and that meant everything to me. My husband and I exchanged vows and demonstrated us becoming one by taking part in a wine communion ceremony.  Once that was all said and done, we were introduced for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Hatcher. My fiancĂ© thought that I was the most beautiful bride in the world. He absolutely loved my dress. I felt like a princess in my wedding dress. I never in a million years though that I could feel that way ! Being plus size can put a lot of doubt in your mind when it comes to finding that perfect dress for one of the most important days

#WeddingWednesday Cori + Steven 10-24-15

Our wedding theme was paper airplanes because of a short film my husband and I fell in love with. We also were never huge fans of flowers being the focal point, so using paper was fun and unique to us. It also made wedding planning easier not having to handle real flowers so we could get things done months in advance.  It was in the fall so we did use mini pumpkins for escort cards, and we drilled wholes in big pumpkins and put changing LED lights in them. We had paper airplanes on our cake, my necklace, and even on our bouquets and boutonnieres! Also instead of a book for people to sign, we made paper airplanes to later put in a big shadow box.  One of the easiest parts of our 15 month wedding planning adventure was finding my dress! I had gone to a previous shop but it was more so to have a better idea as to what I actually liked and flattered me the most. So once I got to Bombshell finding my dress was amazingly simple and quick! I think my dress ending up bein

12 Things Brides Forget Before Their Wedding Day

BRING EXTRA SHOES! Those gorgeous heels you bought? Yeah, by the time the reception rolls around your feet will be killing you! Bring an extra pair of flats so you can keep dancing and socializing the night away. You’ll thank me later. Decide what to do with the gifts. This is often forgotten during the wedding planning process, but still pretty important thing to remember! Make sure you assign someone to pack up the gifts and tell them where to take them. Especially if you are leaving on your honeymoon that night! You don’t want to decide what to do with them after you have had a few glasses of champagne. ;) Assign someone responsible to take care of the marriage license! Your officiant will take two copies and one is your souvenir. (Yes, you will sign three of them.) Make sure you don’t ask your cousin who has had 4 possibly 6 drinks that night already. A pretty hanger for your wedding dress. Since your dress will be photographed you want to make s

6 Tips for Stress-Free Bridesmaid Shopping

I have heard so many brides tell me that bridesmaid dress shopping was the most stressful part of her planning, so let me help make your shopping a bit easier with these helpful tips! Gurl I gotchu. Budget: This is one of the most challenging parts for your maids, so make sure you are upfront about your expectations from the very start. Communicate with your girls, ask what they can afford and plan accordingly. If your girls are on a strict budget, START EARLY! Having your girls know the price of the dress a few months before they need to order, will make this purchase MUCH easier on them. Thas way, your girls can budget for the dress and not add on last minute stress! Happy bridesmaids = a happy bride :) Time: As I said above, time is very important, because bridesmaid dresses can take up to 6 months to arrive. Also, don’t forget your girls need to get their alterations as well. No, this is not a perfectly fitted garment, and yes, they will almost certainly need alterati

#WeddingWednesday Sandie + Robert 7-18-15

Sandie + Robert were married on July 18th, 2015 and what a beautiful day they had! Here is what she had to say about her big day: “We wanted to get married in Detroit.  We looked at many different options that did not fit our vision.  We toured the DNR OAC center before the exhibits set up, but the plans for the DNR OAC were amazing – and it fit our vision. Our wedding was their first wedding; and two days before they opened to the public.  Our guests were able to enjoy the exhibits before and after our ceremony.   I felt great in my wedding gown.  I saw this dress at a bridal show with my fiancĂ©, and was glad to see it at Bombshell Bridal.  Although I tried on many, many dresses – this was my favorite.  The staff was great and the alterations were perfect.   Our reception was so fun!  We celebrated with our friends and family; the DJ wonderfully embraced our music taste; the food was flavorful; the cake was delicious; and the hall staff was pleasant and extremely helpful.

#WeddingWednesday Shannon + Greg 10-18-14

Shannon and Greg’s wedding looked like so much fun! Shannon added some GREAT advice too! Take notes ladies! Here is what she had to say about her big day: “We had a traditional Catholic ceremony at the Grosse Pointe Academy Chapel.  This church is absolutely breathtaking.  Our wedding party came into ‘A Thousand Years’, the mothers processional was ‘Ave Maria’ and my wonderful father walked me down to ‘Canon in D’. Our priest, Father Jerry was so fun and loving - we received many compliments on the mass being exciting to listen to. “I thought you looked amazing.  I choked up when I saw you” - Greg, the Groom. My dress was AWESOME.  I’ve never felt better in anything in my entire life.  I loved how I looked, I loved how it photographed and all the compliments I received.  I almost settled for something less perfect to save a few bucks but you’ll never have a day like your wedding day - so SPLURGE!   We had our reception at Gino’s Surf in Harrison Twp
