#WeddingWednesday

Congratulations to our #WeddingWednesday bride Anna and her husband!

Their wedding was November of 2011 "I was the luckiest girl in the world... I married my once in a lifetime, on a 75 degree, sunshiny day. The day before the wedding it was about 40 degrees and rainy (expectedly so, considering it was mid November) and the day after our wedding it was about 35 degrees with sleet and frost" Anna said. She went on to mention that it was a "gift from grandparents and friends who couldn't be there, but still sent a gift from heaven."

Anna and her husband chose a "rustic chic" theme that featured burlap, lace, birch, neutral colors with splashes of green. The bride talked about some of her unique touches including " handmade clutches for my bridesmaids instead of flowers, a set of handmade birch coasters as gifts for everyone in attendance and broach bouquet for me with pins and pieces from everyone I love, family I never had a chance to meet, and keepsakes."

The wedding took place at Sycamore Hills and the ceremony was held outdoors. Anna boasted about her amazing DJ and Photograper. She also mentioned that "the girls at Bombshell who not only gave my the dress of my dreams, but also dressed my entire bridal party."
Although we planned it in 3 months, there was not a single thing I would change, even if I had planned it in 3 years.
Anna had a great surprise in store for her Mom, she had a college music student play a piano version of "Que Sera Sera", "that was my Grandma Mabels favorite song and she passed away a few years ago." What Anna didnt exspect was what happend after the couples first kiss, "as we turned to take our first walk together, a girl stood up and began to sing. Then another. Then another. Before I knew it, the entire Lake Shore show choir was singing a mash up of LOVE by Nat King Cole and All you need is love by the Beatles. We were surrounded by beautiful voices from these kids, tears of joy from our family and friends."
Anna left us with this final thought, "Three years, two baby girls and lots of memories later, I can only hope that everyone has their dream wedding, feels beautiful, loved and special on their big day. Thank you Bombshell for being such a big part in making me feel all those things! Cheers!"
We couldn't agree more, Anna! Congratulations!

Bridal Shows

Bridal shows are the best way for you, the busy bride to plan your wedding with ease! Shows are an exciting, fun, festive way to meet different necessary vendors. These vendors are there for you, they are there to talk with you, give you information and help you find what services fit your wedding.  Shows can also be a bit overwhelming, as a salon we see this happen a lot! Make sure to plan ahead and are ready for day, here are some tips from us.  Bring important people, groom included. Don't invite your entire bridal party, save that for other activities, this is a chance for you to really figure out what you need and want to have at your wedding.  Make a list of the products and service you need most, visit them first.  Ask for a map of the show, you can see where specific vendors are placed and it will help you navigate.  Print out your name, wedding date, and contact info on labels, this saves a lot of time for entries at vendor tables.  ...

Amanda's advice, Attitude is EVERYTHING!!

I often get asked, what my best advice is for brides shopping for their gowns, and my answer is always the same: Keep an open mind. This is so important, and key to having a successful visit. Buying a wedding gown can be very exciting. It can also be terrifying. It can make you feel your most beautiful, and it can also bring up all sorts of body image issues. While every bride and every experience is different, the one thing I can tell you with complete confidence, is that the brides who keep an open mind have the best experiences. We recently had a bridal appointment start like this: Consultant: “Are you ready to get started?!? We’re going to have some fun today!!” Bride: “I doubt it.” Throughout the appointment, this bride refused to try on gowns that her consultant suggested, and found fault with everything, even the gowns she liked best. It probably won’t surprise you to know that this appointment didn’t end well. For whatever reason, this particular bride was not open to the possi...

#WeddingWednesday Taara + Malcolm 9-5-15

Wait until you see how beautiful Taara is! Their wedding was BEAUTIFUL! See what she had to say about her big day: "Our ceremony took place at Rock of  Ages Christian Ministries.   Our ceremony was short and sweet and only lasted about 20 minutes. My dad walked me down the aisle as my only brother sang to me.  I had my 2 favorite guys share this special moment with me and that meant everything to me. My husband and I exchanged vows and demonstrated us becoming one by taking part in a wine communion ceremony.  Once that was all said and done, we were introduced for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Hatcher. My fiancĂ© thought that I was the most beautiful bride in the world. He absolutely loved my dress. I felt like a princess in my wedding dress. I never in a million years though that I could feel that way ! Being plus size can put a lot of doubt in your mind when it comes to finding that perfect dress for on...
