Gwen's #WeddingWednesday

Happy #WeddingWednesday and congratulations to this weeks couple, Gwen and her husband Shaun who were married this past July.
Gwen & Shaun have a pretty awesome story, they shared in with their wedding program. Their story starts with "the day Gwen & Shaun met, they didn't know the fate that had already been decided for them."

"Just as Gwen was about to give up on online dating, Shaun dropped her a message. After several messages and texts, over the next week, they met in person on February 18, 2012 at Biggby coffee in Lansing. The conversation flowed like two friends catching up after years apart."
Shaun asked Gwen to be his wife July 2013, and the began planning quickly. Gwen had a short window of dates to choose from "without any prior knowledge to the events that happened on this day, she chose July 26. It was the one in the middle of the three weekends available." Again fate was by their side, "on this very day in 2007, Shaun was injured in Iraq. As sad of a situation as it was, it is because of that very day that these two would meet. If it was not for Shaun's injuries, he would not have been in Michigan, he would not have sent that message, and today would not be happening" as it said on their wedding program.
"Fate brought these two together & today turns what used to be a sad anniversary for Shaun into a happy joyous day to celebrate for the rest of their lives."
The couple was married at the Sun Theater in Grand Ledge and they had a fun 50's/ Rockabilly theme! "Our wedding party included 17 people (some of the absolute best people we know) who all danced down the aisle and looked FABULOUS doing so" Gwen says.

The wedding was so fun, " we were surrounded by our family & friends who tossed popcorn as we walked back down the aisle!"

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Smith
We are so happy for you!

Bridal Shows

Bridal shows are the best way for you, the busy bride to plan your wedding with ease! Shows are an exciting, fun, festive way to meet different necessary vendors. These vendors are there for you, they are there to talk with you, give you information and help you find what services fit your wedding.  Shows can also be a bit overwhelming, as a salon we see this happen a lot! Make sure to plan ahead and are ready for day, here are some tips from us.  Bring important people, groom included. Don't invite your entire bridal party, save that for other activities, this is a chance for you to really figure out what you need and want to have at your wedding.  Make a list of the products and service you need most, visit them first.  Ask for a map of the show, you can see where specific vendors are placed and it will help you navigate.  Print out your name, wedding date, and contact info on labels, this saves a lot of time for entries at vendor tables.  ...

#WeddingWednesday Taara + Malcolm 9-5-15

Wait until you see how beautiful Taara is! Their wedding was BEAUTIFUL! See what she had to say about her big day: "Our ceremony took place at Rock of  Ages Christian Ministries.   Our ceremony was short and sweet and only lasted about 20 minutes. My dad walked me down the aisle as my only brother sang to me.  I had my 2 favorite guys share this special moment with me and that meant everything to me. My husband and I exchanged vows and demonstrated us becoming one by taking part in a wine communion ceremony.  Once that was all said and done, we were introduced for the first time as Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Hatcher. My fiancé thought that I was the most beautiful bride in the world. He absolutely loved my dress. I felt like a princess in my wedding dress. I never in a million years though that I could feel that way ! Being plus size can put a lot of doubt in your mind when it comes to finding that perfect dress for on...

Amanda's advice, Attitude is EVERYTHING!!

I often get asked, what my best advice is for brides shopping for their gowns, and my answer is always the same: Keep an open mind. This is so important, and key to having a successful visit. Buying a wedding gown can be very exciting. It can also be terrifying. It can make you feel your most beautiful, and it can also bring up all sorts of body image issues. While every bride and every experience is different, the one thing I can tell you with complete confidence, is that the brides who keep an open mind have the best experiences. We recently had a bridal appointment start like this: Consultant: “Are you ready to get started?!? We’re going to have some fun today!!” Bride: “I doubt it.” Throughout the appointment, this bride refused to try on gowns that her consultant suggested, and found fault with everything, even the gowns she liked best. It probably won’t surprise you to know that this appointment didn’t end well. For whatever reason, this particular bride was not open to the possi...
