#WeddingWednesday on a Tuesday

With Wednesday being Christmas Eve we decided to treat you with an early #WeddingWednesday post! Congratulations to our bride Katherine and her husband who were wed on October 18th, 2014 in Ann Arbor at The Valley. Kathrine wrote us a beautifully detailed email with her wedding story and we are so excited to share her memories of their special day. "From the beginning of my wedding planning I hadn't given my thought to a dress or what I wanted. My mother heard really amazing things about bombshell bridal so I figured I would give them a shot. Really what did I have to lose? I went in not having any idea what I wanted. Everyone who worked at the shop did an amazing job at making me feel comfortable, important and beautiful. They had a huge selection with a very wide range of prices. I was a bride on a budget and they picked a few in my price range. I was so torn between two different dresses and I picked a dress that was a bit cheaper but had more of a classic look to

Bombshell in Vegas

I believe in gratitude, and I believe that we should each take the time to thank the people around us who make our dreams possible. My staff is amazing, and if you’ve been to our shop, you know it’s true. I can honestly say that I employ some of the kindest, most dedicated ladies in this business. They work hard for each and every bride that steps through our doors, and I am grateful for that. I’m grateful that they not only see my vision, but believe in it wholeheartedly. I’m grateful that they’re just as excited to see this business grow as I am. We had a truly great year. We moved into our new, beautiful location, became friends with a few hundred new brides, and had a few growing pains along the way. We celebrated our success with a staff trip to Las Vegas in early December, where we had an absolute blast! It was so much fun getting to be together outside of work, and it made our team bond even stronger. I can’t think of a better way to say thank you than a week of fun all together

Amanda's advice, Attitude is EVERYTHING!!

I often get asked, what my best advice is for brides shopping for their gowns, and my answer is always the same: Keep an open mind. This is so important, and key to having a successful visit. Buying a wedding gown can be very exciting. It can also be terrifying. It can make you feel your most beautiful, and it can also bring up all sorts of body image issues. While every bride and every experience is different, the one thing I can tell you with complete confidence, is that the brides who keep an open mind have the best experiences. We recently had a bridal appointment start like this: Consultant: “Are you ready to get started?!? We’re going to have some fun today!!” Bride: “I doubt it.” Throughout the appointment, this bride refused to try on gowns that her consultant suggested, and found fault with everything, even the gowns she liked best. It probably won’t surprise you to know that this appointment didn’t end well. For whatever reason, this particular bride was not open to the possi

Liz's #WeddingWednesday

When Liz came in shopping for her wedding gown she knew what she was looking for! She picked it out in record time! Liz looked amazing and she was simply glowing on their wedding day! “We married underneath a canopy of trees in the backyard of our home in Bay County, Michigan” being that this was a second marrage for both of them they wanted to do something a different. “! I used to tell Ron that we need to get a swing underneath the trees to sit on when we are old and retired...it turned out to be a great place to start our new life together in that exact spot” Liz says. The Bride and Groom transformed their backyard into a peaceful and special place with live music, flowers and candles.  The Groom is an avid fisher “the top of the altar was the actual board he uses to clean fish on from many of his salmon and walleye fishing tournaments and excursions. We painted it white, bought some fancy legs and we had an instant alter that has silly and special meaning to us.” R

Lisa and Jenay's #WeddingWednesday

We don't even know where to start with these two, Lisa and Jenay are so kind and we are so proud to boast about them being Bombshell Brides! I guess the best way to start this #WeddingWednesday post is to begin with their video! You can find it here  http://vimeo.com/106246240 When Lisa and Jenay decided to come shopping at Bombshell they came together. We had an absolute blast, they wanted to shop together, but wanted the dresses to remain a surprise. Lisa worked with consultant Julia and Jenay worked with consultant Julie. We took turns showing gowns to their friends and family who came to help them. In the end both brides chose the same designer with out knowing!  Now for the wedding details... Lisa and Jenay were met with a few challenges planning their wedding. Jenay told us about a few of the vendors that really made their wedding day feel extra special. To start, the Brides were married at Crystal Gardens in Howell, "we were absolutely amazed with Crysta

Marybeth's #WeddingWednesday

Today’s Wedding Wednesday features our bride Marybeth and her husband, Jon. Marybeth was one of our first brides! Marybeth and Jon met through and on online dating site “we went through all of the communication steps and talked on the phone quite a bit before we had our first date in May. We knew we had something special right away.  It took us awhile to find each other, I was 26 and my husband was 25.  We both said that it was worth the wait!” The couple was engaged in December of 2010 and planned their wedding for 2011. “.  I planned a Winter Wonderland theme and created a lot DIY elements from our wedding.  I made all of my bridesmaid’s bouquets, the table centerpieces, and a brooch bouquet for myself.  We were married on Friday, December 30, which is also my parent’s anniversary.” December is also the Grooms birthday! Marybeth explained that she looked at the big box bridal salon “, but I couldn't find anything that I liked.  My mom saw an article in the Macomb Daily

Megan's #WeddingWednesday

Congratulations to Megan and her husband CJ!  The newlyweds were married April 12th, “it was the greatest day we could have asked for” Megan said.  Megan went into detail about her planning process saying “My dress was by far my favorite thing of the entire process, it was the last of 10 dresses I tried on and after adding some accessories and bling it was perfect. Cj and I were engaged just over 3 1/2 years before finally getting married. Finding my dress kick started our planning and in 10 months our wedding was done and paid for.”  Megan’s bridesmaids also found their dresses at Bombshell, “and each and every experience was phenomenal, I want to do this all over so I can come back again”!  Megan took wedding planning head on, “we went with a classy/vintage feel, with our colors being navy, mint green and gray. I went diy with Pinterest and Etsy becoming my best friends. I made all the centerpieces (coffee filter bouquets that NOBODY believed were fake, let alone cof
