#WeddingWednesday Ashley & Matt 8-8-15

Ashley and Matt got married on 8-8-15 and here is what she had to say about her big day!

“When I woke up that morning it was raining, and right away (even though it's good luck to have rain on your wedding day) I was worried. Both our ceremony and reception were supposed to be outside, in Matt’s dad's back yard.  I ran a few last minute errands, and grabbed a coffee for the long day ahead of me. By the time my girls and I got to our hair appointment the rain subsided, and the rest of the day had a cloudy overcast. Which was perfect because it kept the sun at bay.

After all my bridesmaids, mom, and I got our hair and make-up done we were off to the house to get ready! Before I knew it, it was time to walk down the aisle to say my vows.

My dad passed away, so my brother walked me down the aisle in place of him. One piece of advice I was given was to take my time while walking down the aisle and look at all the faces of my family and friends, because the day goes by so fast.

I met my soon-to-be  husband (he was so handsome) at the altar and immediately had a big ol smile on my face. Our ceremony was beautiful, but yet short and sweet, even my tough guy had tears in his eyes (aww).

After our ceremony, we took pictures and were ready to celebrate our nuptials.

Our reception was amazing! We had worked so hard the months leading up, and everything looked magical. We visited with all of our guests, ate our dinner, and enjoyed the rest of the night with our loved ones. We even had some neighbor boys come over and try to crash our wedding.

One of my most cherished memories of the night was when my brother gave a speech, and in honor of my dad did the father-daughter dance with me.

It was so nice to remember him on my special day, and it was the finishing touch to our dream wedding.”

12 Things Brides Forget Before Their Wedding Day

BRING EXTRA SHOES! Those gorgeous heels you bought? Yeah, by the time the reception rolls around your feet will be killing you! Bring an extra pair of flats so you can keep dancing and socializing the night away. You’ll thank me later. Decide what to do with the gifts. This is often forgotten during the wedding planning process, but still pretty important thing to remember! Make sure you assign someone to pack up the gifts and tell them where to take them. Especially if you are leaving on your honeymoon that night! You don’t want to decide what to do with them after you have had a few glasses of champagne. ;) Assign someone responsible to take care of the marriage license! Your officiant will take two copies and one is your souvenir. (Yes, you will sign three of them.) Make sure you don’t ask your cousin who has had 4 possibly 6 drinks that night already. A pretty hanger for your wedding dress. Since your dress will be photographed you want to make s...

Emily's #WeddingWednesday

Emily came to Bombshell on a recommendation from a friend "I was having a horrible time finding a dress in my size. I called the shop and asked about my size, when she said "We have that size", I almost cried" she said. The bride and new mom came to the shop she had little less than a month until her wedding. Emily was so worried about finding a gown for her special day. " We picked out 4 dresses an started trying them on, I wasn't feeling like any of them was "The one". My consultant  wasn't rushful or rude about me not liking them. She then went to the back and brought out a dress in blue that could be ordered in white, I LOVED IT!!!!" The gown Emily chose was ready for her wedding and she looked stunning! " The day of my wedding I felt like a million dollars, everyone loved my dress. When I got to my husband at the alter he was in awe, mouth open and all. After the wedding he told me that I took his breath away, that he fell...

Amanda's advice, Attitude is EVERYTHING!!

I often get asked, what my best advice is for brides shopping for their gowns, and my answer is always the same: Keep an open mind. This is so important, and key to having a successful visit. Buying a wedding gown can be very exciting. It can also be terrifying. It can make you feel your most beautiful, and it can also bring up all sorts of body image issues. While every bride and every experience is different, the one thing I can tell you with complete confidence, is that the brides who keep an open mind have the best experiences. We recently had a bridal appointment start like this: Consultant: “Are you ready to get started?!? We’re going to have some fun today!!” Bride: “I doubt it.” Throughout the appointment, this bride refused to try on gowns that her consultant suggested, and found fault with everything, even the gowns she liked best. It probably won’t surprise you to know that this appointment didn’t end well. For whatever reason, this particular bride was not open to the possi...
